The Community Emergency Response Team Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
The Domestic Violence Response Team is a 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week program created to assist victims of domestic abuse.
This program mobilizes residents and merchants in South Orange to help identify criminal or suspicious activity and report it to police before a crime can occur. There are several Watch programs in the Village which have operated for over a decade. Any citizen can become involved in Neighborhood Watch by calling the Community Relations Unit.
