As of February 16, 2021 Julie Doran joined the South Orange Village municipal staff as Deputy Administrator.

As Deputy Administrator, Doran will support the work of Village Administrator Adam Loehner, with a focus on community development and communications. Doran’s role will serve to strengthen the connection between South Orange Village and the residential and business communities.

For the last 19 months, Doran served as the Executive Director of the South Orange Village Center Alliance and nearly a decade as the manager of the business districts in neighboring Maplewood. Prior to managing commercial districts, Doran worked as a marketing and advertising executive in New York City and New Jersey as a project manager and client service director.

“Julie’s background in communications and marketing, coupled with her knowledge of South Orange as both a former resident and SOVCA’s Executive Director, will enable us to better bridge the ongoing work of the governing body with the community,” said Village President Sheena Collum.

Doran said, “I am excited to take on a new set of challenges and responsibilities in this community to which I feel such a special connection. I lived in South Orange for 20 years and raised my family here so I know first-hand that South Orange is a unique and special place. I am grateful for the opportunity to work and serve in a community I care deeply about.”
