Auto Theft

A Speir Dr resident reported that sometime between 8:00 pm, Tuesday 6-19-18 & 2:00 am, Wednesday 6-20-18 actor(s) unknown entered his garage & stole his auto (2015 Mercedes-Benz). It appeared the actor(s) also entered another of the victim's vehicles

and rummaged through the interior, though nothing was reported missing at the time.  Both vehicle were unlocked.  Detectives responded to process the scene & are investigating the incidents.

charger, cash & some loose change.

Burglary

The owner of a business on Vose Ave reported that sometime between 12:45 pm, Sunday 6-17-18 & 10:00, Monday 6-18-18 actor(s) unknown forcibly gained access to the business through the front door, rummaged through cabinets & desks and removed some

personal items (including Bose brand speakers & a laptop computer) belonging to the owner as well as employees.  Detectives responded to process the scene and the incident is being investigated.

Adult Arrest - DWI

Najimah Sheffield, a 30 year old Newark resident was arrested on Sunday, 6-17-18 at approximately 12:55 am for DWI. Officers were responding to a call for a disabled vehicle o W. So. Orange Ave, when they observed an auto with heavy front end damage

that matched the description of the vehicle traveling east on the avenue.  Officers stopped the vehicle near Valley Street and during the motor vehicle stop, determined that the driver (Sheffield) was DWI.  Officers impounded the vehicle...

Adult Arrest - Shoplifting

Henry Rodriguez, a 55 year old Newark resident was arrested on Tuesday, 6-12-18 at approximately 4:53 pm for shoplifting. Officers responded to the Stop & Shop on Valley St. where store security had detained a subject (Rodriguez) who had attempted

to steal store merchandise.  Officers arrested Rodriguez without further incident and transported him to headquarters where he was processed accordingly.
