This exhibit presents a body of works that suggest a new “Dadaism” via the rebirth of domestic items redefined as provocative art objects titled “Beyond Bed, Bath and Kitschen: What’s New in the House that Dada Built.”Artists include La Thoriel Badenhausen, Patricia Cudd, Christopher Dudley, Elizabeth Fleming, Curt Ikens and Debra Jenks.The exhibition opens October 23 and runs through November 30.On November 20 at 3pmAn Artists’ Panel Discussion with exhibition Curator SK Duff as Moderator will be held.
La Thoriel Badenhausen incorporates the art of embroidery and sanitary napkins to embrace a dialogue about the secrets, rituals and taboos surrounding women during the time of their menarche.Badenhausen has shown works in various solo and group exhibitions including the NewarkMuseum and LincolnCenter.
Patricia A. Cudd uses household objects such as kitchen aprons in collective sculptural works of art.As an independent artist and a printmaking instructor, Cudd has shown her works in various solo and group exhibitions throughout New Jersey and New York.
