For Exhibiting at the Pierro
Gallery of South Orange
• PGOSO
accepts portfolios in all mediums and genres including, but not
limited to painting, drawing, prints, sculpture, fiber, and site
specific.
• Works should be completed within
the past five years unless there is a historical or conceptual/philosophical
reason to submit earlier work.
• PGOSO recommends sending slides
for the Portfolio Review. Actual work is not accepted.
• Slides must be accompanied by a slide
identification sheet that includes the name, medium, size, date
of execution.
• 72dpi jpgs of images compiled into a PDF slideshow or multiple-page document and copied onto a read-only CD. Resume and statement should be included as separate pdf documents.
• Hard copies to include: Contact sheet of jpg images, resume and statement
• A brief artist’s statement
about their work.
• A brief resume.
The Exhibition
Committee reviews portfolios three times per year: February,
June and October.
Approved portfolios are placed in our Active File from which PGOSO
curates
all regular exhibitions. Due to the high volume of portfolios
received, PGOSO is not able to guarantee all approved artists an
exhibition.
Portfolios must be received by the first week of February, June
or October to be included in that month’s review. If they
are received at random, they will be held for inclusion in the
next scheduled review.
The mission and goals for the Pierro
Gallery of South Orange (PGOSO) is to offer experience and exposure
to contemporary visual artists and to our communities. PGOSO
will continue to exhibit the work of diverse, established and
emerging visual artists in a non-commercial, user-friendly venue.
Though there is a special sensitivity toward regional artists,
the Gallery is open to considering the work of any visual artist
for exhibition. An additional role of PGOSO is to educate, inform
and enlighten visitors of all ages and backgrounds through continuous
exhibitions and related programming.
