Stephen Schnall moved from New York City to South Orange in 1999, and has since lived happily in both the Montrose historic section with his family, and now in an apartment downtown.
Steve is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional and retired in 2011 after enjoying more than 30 successful years in business and technology consulting, including seven years of managing and operating his own company. He is the winner of several prestigious business awards, and has spoken at industry conferences sharing the message of using innovation to achieve business goals. He also was a guest lecturer at graduate programs for St John’s University and Seton Hall University. In retirement, Stephen has had the freedom and time to devote his services to non-profit work and to the community as well as other interests. One of his favorite activities is working as a Co-Producer for Broadway-bound shows, including the Tony award winning musical “Pippin” and the recent production of “The Last Supper” at SOPAC. Steve is also a Director for “Big Apple Greeter” and the Essex County College Foundation Board.
Since being elected as Trustee in 2013 and again in 2017, Stephen served on many of our local municipal committees as well as acting as the liaison to the South Orange Downtown (business association) and South Orange Performing Arts Center. Steve is currently the chair of the Planning and Economic Development committee, as well as on the Planning Board, the Strategic Partnerships and Citizen Engagement, and Finance committees, and Design Review Board.
