As of Monday June 27, South Orange Village will no longer require masks in our public buildings.
Residents and visitors will no longer be required to wear masks when entering public facilities, such as the South Orange Public Library, the Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs, municipal offices, etc.
Village President Sheena Collum announced the policy change, "We are very grateful for the cooperation and support we've received from our residents and visitors in following our requirement to wear masks in our buildings and facilities. At this time, data suggests we can be more flexible, so while wearing masks is encouraged, it will be optional."
As we continue to navigate the Covid-19 pandemic, we ask everyone to keep following the general CDC guidelines:
- Get vaccinated and boosted
- Quarantine/isolate when exposed or testing positive
- Hand hygiene and social distancing
- Masking when appropriate
- Staying home when sick
