As we remember and honor those who have sacrificed for our freedom, we would like to address the absent American Flag on South Orange Ave.
In remembrance of our heroes this Memorial Day, South Orange Village would like to honor all who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice.
Traditionally, our American Flag waves high over South Orange Avenue above our World War II Memorial. This year, it sadly will not be seen flying high above our Village. The equipment that makes this possible has been damaged and is under repair. We are working expeditiously to have the necessary repairs made to allow us to once again proudly fly our flag but unfortunately, they will not be completed in time for Memorial Day Weekend.
South Orange will be hosting its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Memorial Rock adjacent to the Duck Pond in Meadowland Park at 9:30am on Monday, May 29th. We hope all who are available can attend to honor the loved ones we have lost, while keeping them in our hearts and minds. Their service is not forgotten.
