Small Business Saturdays

In support of the local businesses in Maplewood and South Orange, Maplewood Village Alliance, South Orange Village Center, and Springfield Avenue Partnership have started—Saturdays in May—where every Saturday is a Small Business Saturday.

The campaign aims to inform local residents that many businesses are open after adapting their business practices to promote safe operations, while still offering the same quality goods and services.

SOMA Updates and Events

SOMA is offering free rides through Gogo Grandparent. Use code "SOMA Seniors" for a free ride for shopping, doctor's appointments and other essential trips at www.gogograndparent.com or by calling (855) 464-6872.
If you need help, call (973) 558-0863 and a ride will be arranged for you.

Public Works Facility Updates

Metal Pickup- On Tuesday, June 23, DPW will pickup metal recyclables for residents who have prescheduled and paid for this service. There is 6 item limit for this pickup.
Household Bulk Pickup- On Thursday, June 25, DPW will collect household bulk items with the exception of metal and electronics for residents who have prescheduled and paid for this service. There is a limit of 6 items for this pickup.
Container Day- On Saturday, June 27, South Orange residents are welcome to drop off household bulk items at the Public Works facility between 8 am and 1:30 pm by appointment only. Proof of residency is required and no commercial vehicles (U-Haul's/ Home Depot rental vans) are permitted on the property. Electronics, construction material, and hazardous waste will not be accepted at these events. Follow this link for more info.
