Village Offices Close To The Public

Due to the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases in Essex County, the Township of South Orange Village has decided to close its doors to the public beginning on Monday, November 23, 2020 in an effort to keep Village residents and Village employees safe while continuing to maintain Village services.
All departments will remain open and functioning. If you have business to take care of, please contact your department directly. You can find the phone directory on southorange.org.

SOMA Events

Coffee with a Cop: Online, December 9 at 3pm
Join community police and AARP representatives to learn about current scams and how to identify and avoid them.
Register in advance for this meeting at www.SOMAtwotownsforallages.org or via Zoom.

The number and frequency of scams targeting older adults is growing. In the meantime, protect yourself by:

NEVER give out your social security number over the phone or computer to someone who called you saying there was "a problem" with your account
NEVER buy gift cards for someone who asks you to read off the numbers to them.
NEVER believe a call that says they are a grandchild in trouble and they need money sent. Hang up and call family to find out if they are ok or if it is a scam.
NEVER feel bad about doubting a caller or email. Hang up, call the customer service number on your card, account or that you find on the official website if you are contacted about any account problem
