South Orange native and resident, Monica Johnson, will present a classical piano music performance. After 25 years away from the piano and only 11 months of classical lessons at age 8, Monica got back to her musical roots all thanks to the pandemic, a little bit of faith and listening to her inner voice. Monica decided to turn to the piano to help her cope through one of the most tumultuous years ever and what transpired during the quarantine was absolutely miraculous. Through so much darkness, healing and light were found. She started to teach herself how to play again and in the process her music helped others to cope as well. Their encouragement led her to put on a virtual recital and allowed her to release her first surprise music album entitled, Metamorphosis. Sure to be a wonderful experience! Monday, July 26th James Ricalton: Maplewood and the World 7-8:30 p.m. James Ricalton was a teacher, naturalist, world traveler, photographer and author. During his 20 years as an unconventional but beloved teacher and principal in Maplewood, he was a guiding force in shaping our school system.
