Would You Like to Support Sustainability in South Orange and Maplewood? Be a Repair Cafe volunteer!
With expert volunteers, repairs are made to all kinds of beloved items at the Repair Cafe. Visitors bring their broken items from home and our specialists make the repairs. We are looking for repair volunteers for the event which will be held on October 16, 2021, 1:00 to 4:00 pm, at the South Orange Skate House. Repair volunteers are free to promote and bring their business cards and brochures. We also need volunteers to help set-up, register participants, and much more. If you are interested, contact SOMA Two Towns for All Ages, soma2towns@gmail.com, or 973-558-0863. Seton Hall University’s fall semester begins on August 30th. With categories for enrollment that include credit and non-credit options, local seniors have the opportunity to get advanced degrees or just take a course for personal edification. All credit courses are available for a $500 per course fee. Non-credit or audited courses are available for $100 per course. Registered seniors are responsible to pay any additional course fees required for their classes. There are restrictions for audited courses. Please note that an audit option is NOT permitted for the following courses: computer and computer-based courses, art and design (ADAM), applied music (MAP), photography, graphics (COG), honors courses (HONS), studio courses, physical education courses, museum professions courses, writing courses, independent study and research courses, science labs, off-campus courses, online courses, and ESL classes. To determine course availability by category and enrollment status, go to SHU.edu and search Course Exam Schedules, click on Course Exam Schedule, then click on Fall Course Schedule. This will take you to the online course catalogue where you can search for courses by subject to determine enrollment availability. You will need to include your course selection on the registration form. To register, go to SHU.org and search Senior Citizen Registration Form. You will need to complete the form and return it to the Registrar’s office asap. You can drop it off or send it back via email to registrar@shu.edu.
