911 Music, Readings and Remembrance

Join us at the South Orange Public Library on Saturday, September 11 at 11 AM as we honor the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks with this special presentation of usic, readings, and remembrance with a Flag presentation by SoMA Boy Scout Troop 60, Musical performances by the South Orange Symphony Chamber Orchestra and Columbia High School’s a cappella group Noteworthy as well as selected readings from Village President, Sheena Collum, Village Trustee, Karen Hartshorn Hilton, NJ Librarian of the Year, Keisha Miller and South Orange residents.
All 911 Events by SOPL include a Mourning Meditation at 8 AM, Music, Readings and Remembrance at 11 AM and Partner Painting at 2 PM.

Post-Tropical Storm Ida - Information

South Orange Village hopes that everyone remained safe during Tropical Storm Ida. We are currently assessing the damage to our public properties and roads. Some facilities are completely shut down, like DPW. Nonetheless, DPW will begin a pickup of yard debris on Tuesday, September 7. As always, the Village will move on and we will be stronger because of what we've endured.

Farmers Market

Stop by the Sloan Street parking lot every Wednesday from 2 - 7 PM, June through October to pick up your fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, freshly baked breads, nuts, meats, pickles, olives, homemade ice cream, apple cider soul food and so much more.
