How to Get Free
Over-the-Counter COVID-19 Tests with Medicare
As of April 4, Medicare covers up to eight over-the-counter COVID-19 tests per month, at no cost to the beneficiary. This includes people with Medicare Part B as well as those enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan. Tests are available at any pharmacy or health care provider that participates in this initiative.
Pharmacies will bill Medicare directly, but people should bring their Medicare card as proof of eligibility (the red, white and blue card, not the Advantage Plan). Medicare beneficiaries should check with their pharmacy or health care provider by calling beforehand or visiting
here.
For more information, see this
fact sheet. People with Medicare can also get further information by contacting 1-800-MEDICARE
