Public Works Events

Mulch Delivery: On Wednesday, April 19, residents who have prescheduled will receive a mulch delivery.
You can schedule a delivery via our online form or by calling the Department of Public Works at 973-378-7741. Limit one product per delivery per month. Deliveries cost $50 per drop off. Please visit southorange.org for additional information.

Spring Cleanup: curbside pickup April 3 - May 15

The Department of Public Works will collect the following material curbside.

Branches: 4 inches or smaller in diameter, no roots or stumps will be collected.
Leaves: Place leaves, yard clippings, and garden rakings in brown biodegradable paper bags (no plastic). Leaves should not be raked into the street.

Grass Clippings: DPW does not take grass clippings under any circumstances. You may contact South Orange Disposal Company to organize a pickup.
