South Orange Symphony Presents Free Family Concert Featuring Peter and the Wolf
Sunday January 28th
3 PM
South Orange Middle School
The South Orange Symphony performs Sergei Prokofiev’s beloved musical tale Peter and the Wolf in a free family concert. Families with children aged 4 and up are welcome; there is space for kids to move and dance to the music at the back of the auditorium.
The concert is 3pm on Sunday January 28 at the South Orange Middle School.
A special feature is the SOMS Early Morning Chamber Orchestra playing side-by-side with musicians of the South Orange Symphony and performing “Ride That Chariot,” by Reynard Burns. “Most of these students have only been playing for a few years at most, and their talent and enthusiasm are inspiring,” said orchestra president and violist Janet Poland.
During a brief intermission, children can try out stringed instruments in a musical instrument “petting zoo,” and get impromptu demos or quick lessons from musicians.
