Hip Hop Dance in the Loft

Hip Hop Dance in the Loft
In celebration of Black History Month, South Orange Village is proud to present: Dance in the Loft Saturday, February 10th in The Loft @ SOPAC! The night will begin with Hip Hop lessons from 6-7pm and will continue with a DJ and dancing until 9pm. (All levels welcome! Beer & wine will be available for purchase (credit cards & electronic payment accepted). This is a family friendly event (children must be accompanied by an adult).

Call For Art Entries!
Deadline for submissions is Monday, February 5.
The Pierro Gallery, a facility of the South Orange Recreation and Cultural Affairs Center at The Baird, presents curated exhibitions of work by diverse established and emerging visual artists. We're THRILLED to announce our open call for submissions for our first gallery show.

Erasing SO Borders Walk/Run

Erasing South Orange Borders Run/Walk

Join South Orange resident Stephanie Lawson Muhammad, founder of Erasing Essex’s Borders, on an exploration of the historical borders that defined the boundaries of South Orange within Essex County and how those borders have impacted African Americans over the last 150 years.  Each route will cover approximately 3.1 miles (5k) and incorporate locations and landmarks significant to the African American experience. These events are FREE and run on Saturdays in February.
We ask all participants to register in advance.

Co-Lab at South Orange Ribbon Cutting

Please join us on Saturday, February 3 at 11am for a special ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome The Co-Lab at South Orange (57 South Orange Ave.) to South Orange Downtown. The Co-Lab at South Orange is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that supports local entrepreneurs and creatives launching their brick-and-mortar businesses in downtown South Orange. Current member shops include: Cereal Dreams, Dailygreatness, Gra, Noble Hungers and South Orange Wheelhouse.

AARP will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Skatehouse for tax prep assistance.
