Essex Cty Road Improvement Meeting

A Public Information Center meeting has been scheduled for 11 traffic signals and roadway improvements projects in Irvington, Newark, Maplewood, and South Orange Village. Planned for 7-9 PM on June 3 in the Irvington Community Center, Irvington Park, Irvington.

Juneteenth: June 14, 12 PM; Durand-Hedden House
Join Durand-Hedden and the South Orange/Maplewood Community Coalition on Race for a celebration of Juneteenth, an annual community tradition. Learn West African Traditional Dance with Yahaya Kamate, a West African dancer and drummer who performed with National Ballet of Côte d’Ivoire at 2 PM.

Public Works Events
Electronic Recycling: Saturday, June 72; 8 AM-noon
South Orange and Maplewood residents are welcome to access the recycling facility at 300 Walton Ave to dispose of e-waste (electronic) items. Accepted items can be found here.

Studio Tour SOMA 2025

Studio Tour SoMA Registration

Artists interested in participating in Studio Tour SOMA 2025 can register starting May 24. An early-bird registration discount is available for those who sign up before June 14.

Studio Tour SOMA is an annual event organized by the communities of South Orange and Maplewood to celebrate local artists and provide a platform for them to share their work with the public.
