Voter registration

Late Night Voter Registration

The Village Clerk’s Office will be having a Late Night Voter Registration Drive on April 23, 2019, from 4:30 - 9:00 pm. The registration deadline to vote at the next election is 21 days prior to Election Day. Drug Take-Back Day

The Essex County Division of Community Health Services and the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Team (ADAPT) invite the public to participate in Drug Take Back Day. Unused prescription and over-the-counter drugs can be brought to any of the participating sites for safe disposal. Identifying labels such as name, address, phone number, and doctor's name should be removed. Disposal is free, easy, and anonymous. South Orange Police Department is a participating temporary drop-off site. Drop off at SOPD will be Saturday, April 27 from 10 am until 2 pm. Earth Day Celeb.

Earth Day Celebration

On Saturday, April 27 from 11 am until 4 pm, join Essex County as they host their Earth Day Celebration at the Environmental Center located at 621B Eagle Rock Ave in Roseland. One can expect to celebrate nature with crafts, games, and recreational opportunities such as canoeing and hiking. This is a free and family-friendly event.

 
 

Bulk Pickup & Container Day

DPW will collect household bulk items on Thursday, April 25 with the exception of metal and electronics for residents who have prescheduled and paid for this service. There is a 6 item limit for this pickup.
On Saturday, April 27, South Orange residents are welcome to drop off household bulk items at the Public Works facility, 300 Walton Ave. Proof of residency is required and no commercial vehicles (U-Haul's/ Home Depot rental vans) are permitted on the property. Electronics, construction material, and hazardous waste will not be accepted at these events.
