Leaf Season

Leaf Season Has Begun!

The DPW will cycle the Township and collect leaves starting Monday, October 21. Residents are required to refer to the posted Leaf Map to determine when it is acceptable to rake out. The last day for residents to place leaves curbside is Wednesday, December 4th. No other debris will be collected during this pickup. Please review the Seasonal Information page for all regulations pertaining to Leaf Season and be sure any landscapers contracted abide by Township Ordinances.

Conversations on Age-Friendly Efforts

It’s been 4 years since South Orange and Maplewood began an age-friendly initiative. Now, its time to look at what we’ve done and what we need to do next. All South Orange & Maplewood residents age 60+ are invited to the Senior Forum on Sunday, October 27, 2 - 5 pm at SOPAC Loft. Register by calling 973-558-0863 or email SOMA2towns@gmail.com. Please make note if you need transportation. Day-of registration will begin at SOPAC at 1:30 pm.

Gardens Aglow

Gardens Aglow

Essex County invites you to Gardens Aglow on Friday, Oct 25, 6 to 9 PM with a rain date on Saturday, the 26 at Essex County Presby Memorial Gardens located at 474 Upper Mountain Avenue, Upper Montclair. At this event, you can view the gardens at dusk as they come to life with artfully carved jack-o-lanterns supplied by local high school art departments. Enjoy a glass of cider at sunset while watching the gardens glow! Activities, entertainment, a mad science show, and refreshments will be on-going throughout the event.

Attend a meeting. You will get a first-hand look at all the ins and outs of our town and it is a great way to participate and make a difference in the town. Please note that meetings are subject to change with short notice. Refer to our events calendar for up-to-date information.
