Community Resources

The Health Department's Community Resource Guide provides
information on local community organizations and social services
for individuals and families. Help is available for common
concerns related to physical, mental or emotional setbacks due
to illness, unemployment, housing or food instability, or a lack of
transportation. Don't hesitate to contact us with specific
questions regarding social services.

Senior Citizen Social Worker

South Orange Village utilizes the services of a Senior Citizen Social Worker through
Jewish Family Services. The Senior Social Worker will be available on the following
date/times in South Orange:

Mondays 9am — 3pm, Location: The Baird (1 st Floor Conference Room).

The Senior Social Worker can help clients connect to

  •  At Home Assistance: Home Health Aide/Companion Agencies
  • Adult Day Programs & Senior Centers
  • Community & Government Resources
  • Financial: Medicare Counseling, Money Management, Elder Care Attorneys
  • Food: Shop & Drop, Meals on Wheels, Food Stamps (SNAP)
  • Home Modification Services
  • Housing: Senior Buildings, Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing Facilities
  • Mental Health: Counseling, Support Groups, Friendly Visiting
  • Medical: Geriatricians, Visiting Nurse Agencies, Psychiatrists
  • Transportation
  • Local Town Activities & Library Programs
