Watershed Literary Events, a spoken-word series sponsored by the Department of Cultural Affairs in South Orange, will host its final virtual reading of the year, The Lady Mechanics of Verona, on Sunday, December 6, 2020, at 2:00 p.m.

Registration starts on Monday, January 4, 2020. Registration will take place only online through our Catalog.

SOM BASEBALL SPRING SEASON INFORMATION
The SOM Baseball spring recreation baseball program is open to all South Orange and Maplewood children between the ages of 5 and 15 (as of April 30, 2021). Children attending school in Maplewood/South Orange are also eligible to participate.  Placement for all players is based on the child's age as of April 30, 2021, as follows:

• Age 5 - Cal Ripken T-Ball American League   

• Age 6 - Cal Ripken T-Ball National League   

• Age 7 - Cal Ripken Rookie American League   

• Age 8 - Cal Ripken Rookie National League   

• Age 9 - Cal Ripken Minor League   

• Ages 10 and 11 - Cal Ripken Majors 60   

• Age 12 - Cal Ripken Majors 70   

• Ages 13 to 15 - Babe Ruth League

2021 RECREATION & CULTURAL AFFAIRS MEMBERSHIP

The South Orange Recreation & Cultural Affairs Membership will be available for purchase online  Monday, January 4, 2020.

The benefits of this membership include access to the community pool, tennis courts and discounts on many department programs. Renewals for returning members OR first time membership purchases can be processed online. We encourage residents to renew their Recreation Membership early in the year. Proof of South Orange residency required. Check our online catalog for more information.
