AAPI Pool Celebration

Enjoy the end of AAPI month and the beginning of summer at the South Orange Pool!

South Orange Village President Sheena Collum invites all South Orange and Maplewood residents to celebrate the close of AAPI month with us at the South Orange Pool on Saturday, May 27, from 5 to 8pm. There will be asian-inspired cuisine for all and music by DJ Phillip Lee.

*No pool passes necessary. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Revaluation Updates

The Village is nearing the end of Phase 1, interior inspections of all properties. If you have not had an interior inspection of your property completed, please call PROFESSIONAL PROPERTY APPRAISERS at 866-957-1388 to schedule an appointment. An INTERIOR INSPECTION needs to be made for assessment accuracy and to ensure that the tax burden is distributed “fairly” among all property owners.
Phase 2 will begin once inspections are completed. This phase will consist of letters being sent to all property owners with their preliminary new assessment for 2024.
Phase 3 will be meeting with any homeowner that has questions about their preliminary assessment.
Phase 4 will be finalizing the assessments for all properties and submitting those new assessments to the County Tax Board for 2024.

Free Rabies Vaccine Clinic

Free Rabies Vaccine Clinic

The Maplewood & South Orange Health Department is offering a FREE Rabies Vaccine Clinic in conjunction with our local vets. The clinic will be at the South Essex Fire Department Headquarters at 56 Sloan Street, South Orange, on Sunday June 4th from 11 AM to 12:30 PM, and at the Maplewood Fire Station at 105 Dunnell Road on Wednesday, June 7 from 12 to 1:30 PM. Dogs must be on a leash and cats in carriers. Please call (974) 762-8120, x2006 with any questions.
